Satoshi Ishida, Graduate Software Engineer
I chose Northrop Grumman for the opportunity to be engaged in serious meaningful work that exposes me to advanced projects and multiple programming languages and technologies.
Northrop Grumman has a legacy of helping land the first humans on the moon, developing the most cutting edge defence technologies and most recently having worked on the James Webb Space Telescope. This is a company with a rich history that continues to lead in technological innovation and impacts people’s lives globally.
It is also important to point out that Northrop Grumman provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees. With an equal and inclusive work culture that both supports and raises awareness of protected status or characteristics of employees.
The recruitment process consisted of three stages. Northrop Grumman focuses on a candidate holistically, rather than the focus being on coding. The application process tests behaviours, competencies, communications and coding skills to determine if the candidate has the potential to be successful. The candidate will be provided with both learning and work based training, which fills in any gaps and raises skills and knowledge to a professional standard.
The induction provides you with a professional career mindset to continuously build on as you develop your personal brand and continuously engage in team collaboration.
Looking ahead, I am most excited about developing my software engineering and professional skills. To be one of the leading minds in this field, but also to give justice in being a representative of Northrop Grumman and to respect the legacy of the company.
