Antenna Measurement Services

Northrop Grumman's antenna measurement ranges have accurately performed thousands of tests over the last 50 years.

For the past 50 years, Northrop Grumman’s antenna measurement ranges have reliably conducted thousands of tests.

Our testing team can evaluate wideband antennas, reflector antennas, wire type antennas, feeds, multi-beam antennas and phased array antennas, from 100 MHz to 65 GHz. Our facilities can accommodate antenna systems from a small single reflector to an entire aerospace and space vehicle with its antenna array fully deployed.

Capabilities

RF Testing

The antenna measurement facilities have several ranges that collectively operate from 100 MHz to 65 GHz and can test wideband antennas, reflector antennas, wire type antennas, feeds, multi-beam antennas, phased array antennas, and more.  Their measurements capabilities include Co- and Cross-Pol Radiation Patterns and Contours, Gain, Axial Ratio and Side Lobe Level.

Antenna Environmental Testing

The Environmental Test Labs can conduct Acoustic, Random Vibration, Temperature Cycling and Thermal Vacuum testing of antennas. If needed, Pre and Post Environmental RF testing is also available.

Antenna Design

Our RF engineers can design from reflectors, feeds, horns, wire, ultra broadband, to phased arrays and multibeam antenna systems.

Laboratory Descriptions

Anechoic Chambers provide testing for broad beam antennas covering 100 MHz to 26.5 GHz.
Compact Ranges are suitable for System Level Channel Quality testing from 6 GHz to 50 GHz.
Spherical NF Ranges accommodate antennas up to 65 GHz.
Planar Near Field Ranges include Vertical and Horizontal scanning orientations, making them suitable for Directional Antennas and Phased Array operating from 500 MHz to 65 GHz.
