About the NG-17 Mission

Northrop Grumman is proud to name the NG-17 Cygnus spacecraft after former astronaut Piers Sellers. It is the company’s tradition to name each Cygnus spacecraft in honor of an individual who has made great contributions to human spaceflight. Sellers was selected in celebration of his role in assembling the International Space Station.

NG-17 Mission Update

The NG-17 Cygnus spacecraft is scheduled to launch aboard our Antares rocket on Feb. 19, 2022 during the 5 minute window beginning at 12:40 p.m. EST EST. from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) Pad 0A on Wallops Island, Virginia.

Update: The Antares rocket launched at 12:40 p.m. ET from NASA Wallops carrying ~8,300 lbs. of cargo aboard Cygnus headed for the International Space Station.

Update: The solar arrays have successfully deployed on the Cygnus spacecraft and is on its way to deliver ~8,300 pounds of scientific investigations, technology demonstrations, commercial products, and other cargo to the International Space Station. Rendezvous is set for Feb. 22.
