M230
The M230 is the original medium caliber Chain Gun. With battle-proven performance on the Apache attack helicopter, the M230 delivers efficient and reliable lethality for aviation platforms.
M230LF
The M230LF brings 30mm lethality to light weight ground platforms, where .50 caliber chain guns are traditionally used, ensuring overmatch on the battlefield.
Firing 30x113mm advanced ammunition, including Proximity ammunition, the M230LF can defeat ground, aerial, and Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
M230LF Dual Feed
Northrop Grumman recently introduced the first of its kind M230LF Dual Feed Bushmaster® Chain Gun®. This 30x113mm medium caliber Chain Gun offers two ammunition feed paths to give operators first round select responses to unmanned aerial systems (UAS), as well as ground engagements.
This innovation brings an evolution in lethality to the battlespace. The benefit of the dual feed system is that operators can “flip the switch” between advanced ammunition rounds, delivering increased mission flexibility in being able to select between two different rounds that are best suited to address target types. This reduces logistical burdens, while allowing for more engagements before the need to reload the system.
XM914
The XM914 is a variant of the M230LF, adopted by the U.S. Army for use on the Initial Maneuver Short-Range Air Defense (IM-SHORAD) program and the Mobile, Low, Slow, Unmanned Aircraft Integrated Defeat System (M-LIDS) program.
