Precision Grenadier System (PGS)

Squad Level Agility to Counter Any Threat

Mission Flexibility for the Maneuver Force

Northrop Grumman’s Precision Grenadier System (PGS) is a shoulder-fired, 25mm precise grenade launcher providing the infantry squad with a capability to rapidly and effectively defeat targets in defilade, close quarters battle and small unmanned aerial system (UAS).

Weighing just under 12 pounds, PGS is lightweight, maneuverable, and built for semi-automatic operation with a 5-round magazine—giving the operator confidence on the move.

Advanced Ammunition for Maximum Effects

We’re a leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced medium caliber ammunition allowing PGS to leverage common components and existing automated production lines for operational advantage and program risk reduction.

We’ve leveraged this expertise to develop four specific 25mm rounds for use with PGS, including high explosive air-bursting, proximity and close quarter battle round as well as training.

25mm Ammunition Suite

High Explosive Air Burst (HEAB)

HEAB is a programmable, dual-warhead high-explosive fragmenting round that can be fired in both airburst and point detonate.

High Explosive Proximity

Incorporates a proximity sensor to identify and explosively fragment the projectile in-flight to defeat stationary or moving UAS. Round does not require programming.

High Explosive Proximity

Close Quarter Battle (CQB)

CQB round is a buckshot round enabling close quarter engagements such as breaching, room clearing, trench clearing, and close-range C-UAS.

Target Practice (TP)

The 25mm TP round is a low-cost, inert training round that is ballistically matched to the 25mm HEAB and 25mm PROX rounds.
