LITENING allows for new capabilities through software updates. As a podded system, LITENING can be rapidly updated independently of the aircraft – so there is no need to take the aircraft out of service.
LITENING is compatible with different types of weapons, allowing adjustments to mission plans based on real-time information. The pod also uses advanced algorithms to improve how it finds and tracks targets. This gives operators critical data to optimally perform each mission.
With multiple sensors, including daylight, infrared and lasers, LITENING provides a full view of the battlefield. This lets operators determine the best way to see threats so they can respond rapidly and effectively.
