Case Study: NG InSight Flight Test Validates Resilient Communications

Northrop Grumman conducted a successful demonstration flight at BWI, featuring the hybrid satellite communications (SATCOM), Government Reference Architecture (GRA) compliant directional line-of-sight communications, and networking features of its NG InSight™ product line. NG Insight’s™ multi-orbit, multi-provider and multi-band communication capabilities provide the security and resilience required for mission success in modern warfare.

During the event on April 30, 2025, Northrop Grumman:

• Integrated TRL 6 components of the NG InSight™ ecosystem onto a CRJ-700, including an open system processor, advanced apertures, GRA compliant skills, and mission aware content routing
• Demonstrated simultaneous directional line-of-sight (DLOS) and beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) communications, minimizing the risk of interception and jamming by providing robust communications with resiliency through comms diversity
• Validated secure, low-latency data-sharing across vast distances for collaboration across platforms, employing government reference content routing across mission relevant ranges enabling platform collaboration
