Labor Negotiations Update

We are in continued negotiation discussions with the IBEW, IUE and SEA and have exchanged preliminary offers. The company hopes to reach an agreement prior to the end of the contracts on August 30 that meets the needs of our employees as well as the needs of the business. Details of the offer will be posted to this website, so check back often for more information.

The Importance of Your Vote

Your union will provide details on how to vote on the presented offer. Voting is the best way to make sure your voice is heard.

Your individual decision on how to vote has significant implications. Before you make that decision, we urge you to educate yourself on the contract offer and its impact on you and your family. You also have the right to ask your union officials for more information, including whether they could call a strike without further input from you if the contract is not ratified. Frequently Asked Questions

Negotiations Process

The current contracts with the IBEW, IUE and SEA expire as of midnight, August 30, 2025. Northrop Grumman has been negotiating with the unions since early July.

What is the goal for negotiations?

The goal is for the unions and Northrop Grumman to work together to reach a fair contract that recognizes your contributions, maintains job stability over the coming years, meets the needs of the business and is beneficial for all employees.

What is discussed during negotiations?

The parties provided more than 70 proposals throughout the process. These included proposals regarding wages, medical premiums, shift schedules, and various types of leave.

How can I participate in the collective bargaining process?

Details are not typically shared while the parties are negotiating. The parties will finalize the details, and then an offer is presented for vote. Specifics will be shared once this occurs.

What to Know About Strikes

No one benefits from a strike. Northrop Grumman is committed to bargaining in good faith and reaching a fair agreement. As would be expected of any responsible business, we are taking the steps necessary to prepare for a strike should one occur.

If I decide to go on strike, will I still get paid?

Employees who participate in strikes are not eligible to receive pay from the Company and cannot collect unemployment. Additionally, your time on strike will impact your future vacation accrual and 401(k) contributions. Typically, strikes have no set end date, which could leave employees without pay and company-paid benefits for an undetermined amount of time.

In the event of a strike will manufacturing at BWI and ATL continue?

Yes, manufacturing will continue. We are obligated to support our customers and the warfighter. The Company has been working on a strike contingency plan for months and coordinating with an outside firm. We will be immediately implementing the plan utilizing temporary replacement workers and non-union employees.

What should I do if I do not want to strike?

The only way to ensure there is not a strike is to ratify the contract. We urge you to educate yourself on the offer and make an informed decision.

What happens if we don't have an approved CBA offer by midnight, August 30?

Once the current CBA expires, the unions can continue to work without a contract or agree to an extension.
