Corporate Responsibility in Australia

At Northrop Grumman, corporate social responsibility is a key component of our business. In Australia, our programmes and partnerships support community organisations, STEM education, and research and development in technologies across many higher education institutions.

Community

Northrop Grumman recognises the importance of supporting community organisations in Australia — it is part of our daily operations, our culture and our future.

In Australia, Northrop Grumman has partnerships with many organisations including Soldier On and the Fly Program, both of which provide support and rehabilitation to veterans who have sustained physical or psychological injuries through their service.

STEM Education

Northrop Grumman understands that quality education is vital to the future success of Australia. We invest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs for primary and secondary students, as well as educators.

Our vision of corporate social responsibility involves supporting organisations and programs such as the Victorian Space Science Education Centre, the VEX Robotics Challenge and the National Engineering and Science Challenge. We provide scholarships for women in technology and achievements in engineering, and through the Northrop Grumman Foundation-American Australian Association partnership, we provide grants for Australian students to undertake advanced research in the U.S.

We also recently launched CyberTaipan in partnership with AustCyber (the Australian Cyber Security Growth Network). CyberTaipan is a national cyber-defence competition for Australian youth, modelled on the Air Force Association's CyberPatriot program, sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Foundation.

The objective of CyberTaipan is to attract Australian years 7-12 students to education and careers in cybersecurity and other STEM disciplines, helping them develop skills that will carry forward through college and careers critical to our nation's future. Learn more at AustCyber.com/CyberTaipan.

University Partnerships

Northrop Grumman supports research and development in technologies across many higher education institutions in Australia.

Our collaboration with research facilities, such as the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the University of Queensland, the University of New South Wales and the University of Adelaide, will be critical in the ongoing development of Australian technologies.
