Charting New Waters with Superior Maritime Technologies

Pioneering Maritime Defence
Northrop Grumman delivers innovative maritime capabilities that enable undersea and surface dominance. Our expertise spans from pioneering uncrewed platforms like the Manta Ray to our Command and Control Systems enabling persistent operations in challenging environments.
Our integrated mission systems are all designed to provide superior situational awareness and threat response. We also deliver Integrated Bridge Systems that enhance navigation, safety, and operational effectiveness. Combined with advanced munitions and scalable solutions, Northrop Grumman UK supports the Royal Navy and allied forces in maintaining maritime domain awareness.

Manta Ray
Northrop Grumman has been pioneering capabilities in the undersea domain for more than 50 years. Now, we are creating a new class of extra-large uncrewed underwater vehicles (XLUUV) with Manta Ray.
Taking its name from the massive “winged” fish, Manta Ray will operate long-duration, long-range missions in ocean environments where humans can’t go.

µSAS™
µSAS™ (pronounced micro-SAS) is a first-of-its-kind synthetic aperture sonar (SAS), which allows underwater vehicles to capture precise and high-resolution imagery of the ocean and seabed.
By collecting and processing sonar data in real-time, µSAS gives operators the information they need for increased situational awareness and informed decision-making.

PMS
The Platform Management Systems (PMS), sometimes referred to as a Machinery Control System, is a sophisticated control system solution for naval vessels such as surface ships, submarines and, potentially, unmanned vehicles.
It provides essential real-time monitoring, control and diagnostics of ship systems and subsystems, allowing the crew to securely access and safely control vital information from a common interface ensuring operational success.
Our critical systems are in-service with or in development for the Royal Navy’s most complex platforms, including Hunt, Type 45, QEC, Astute and Dreadnought class platforms.
These platforms routinely execute the most critical and demanding missions for the Royal Navy.
MPS
MPS can utilize either hot or cold launch technology to launch a series of payloads, including uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) and advanced missiles.
The hardware is contained and deployed from a short shipping container, allowing it to be quickly deployed on land and at sea.

Electronic Attack
Northrop Grumman’s cutting-edge multifunction sensors and electronic warfare capabilities provide warfighters with an overwhelming advantage in every domain and push the boundaries of what is possible across the electromagnetic spectrum.
The Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3 is an upgrade to the legacy AN/SLQ-32 system, and provides game-changing capability for non-kinetic electronic attack options to the U.S. fleet. The advantage of this electronic attack system is that it provides a non-kinetic, virtually endless, soft-kill magazine to defeat inbound threats such as next generation anti-ship missiles.

Integrated Bridge System
Our advanced marine technology is relied on by our customers for safe navigation and multi-mission support capabilities.
Our Integrated Bridge System seamlessly combines data from nautical sensors and military applications to deliver optimal situational awareness, navigation data and C4ISR information, vital for enabling mission success.

Advanced Munitions
We are a leading provider of advanced weapons and ammunition that ensure overmatch against the most difficult challenges. Maximizing combat effectiveness today, while designing revolutionary new capabilities to meet the demands of the future.
With unrivalled capability depth, we bring the strengths and expertise from across Northrop Grumman. The result: smarter, more survivable and effective weapons. Delivered rapidly and affordably.
