Northrop Grumman UK Participates in Jon Egging Trust Flagship Fundraising Event as Platinum Partner

Northrop Grumman has been partnered with the Jon Egging Trust since 2013. Thanks to our close relationship and support for the organisation, we have been officially recognised as a Platinum Partner since 2023.
We were delighted to be the headline sponsor once again for JETRide, the charity’s flagship fundraising event. The annual challenge sets off from RAF Cranwell and participants can choose to cycle 50, 75 or 100 miles through the Lincolnshire countryside.
An enthusiastic NGUK team, comprised of eight employees, took part in the challenge, participating both in person and virtually. Their own fundraising efforts contributed to the event’s fundraising total of more than £31,000. These vital funds will continue to support JET’s mission to support young people facing adversity, building their confidence, resilience and ambition through long-term mentoring and inspirational opportunities.
Team member, Leon said, “I did the event last year and really enjoyed it. I chose the virtual option this year and rode the Lands’ End 100 mile sportive. I would argue that riding a bike in excess of 30 miles becomes a real endurance challenge, both physically and mentally so you have to prepare for it, especially for the last 20 miles. But I signed up for this event to test my resilience, my ability to ‘move’ as I get older and to raise funds for such a worthy cause so I was very motivated to finish. Being part of a NGUK team keeps you going through the training for the event, and on the day too. It also has allowed me to meet and make friends across the entire business whom I probably would have never met.”
Team member, Paul said, “Cycling gets you out in the fresh air, conducting fitness, and boosting your mental wellbeing, all the while knowing you’re supporting a great NG partner charity and helping the children in need. Everybody wins!”
The Jon Egging Trust offers long-term support to disadvantaged and under-confident young people who are struggling to engage at school and may have lost focus, confidence and self-belief.
