Sword of Honour Award
Northrop Grumman UK has won a prestigious Sword of Honour Award from the British Safety Council.
Excellence in Managing Health and Safety Risks
We are proud to be one of only 70 successful applicants who have demonstrated excellence in the management of health and safety risks at work. The safety of everyone at NG is our highest priority and it’s thanks to the diligence of every colleague that we can maintain and further improve our safety culture.
Prior to receiving this highly respected award, we had received the highest possible rating in the ‘Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Best Practice Audit’ conducted by the British Safety Council. We were awarded the maximum Five Stars with a score of 96.14%.
We were then invited to apply for the Sword, Globe and Shield of Honour Awards, only available to those who scored five stars in their audit. These awards are independently adjudicated by a panel of experts – a true recognition of excellence in health and safety management and of world-class performance.
Kevin Longman, Managing Director of National Security Solutions, said, “I am incredibly proud that we have won the Sword of Honour recognising our commitment to health and safety at Northrop Grumman. It takes each of us to maintain a safe working environment where we can all belong and thrive so thank you for supporting our safety-first workplace culture. A special thank you to our EHS team not only for the hard work that went into the audit, but for their year-round dedication to driving health and safety to the top of our business agenda.”
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council, added: “I would like to congratulate Northrop Grumman UK and its staff on this award, in tribute to their commitment to keeping their workplace safe and healthy. All of the Sword, Globe and Shield award-winning organisations share a commitment and willingness to achieve the uppermost standards of health and safety. We thank Northrop Grumman UK for contributing to achieving our vision that no-one should be injured or made ill through their work.”
