Kenneth “Kenny” Robinson is vice president of Global Corporate Responsibility and Chief Diversity Officer for Northrop Grumman, a company that has a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and strives to make a difference in every community it does business and beyond.
In this role, Robinson leads the Northrop Grumman initiatives for corporate citizenship, diversity and inclusion, equal employment opportunity, workplace accommodations, ethics and business conduct; including programs such as employee assistance (NGCare) and Operation IMPACT that support the hiring of Wounded Warriors. He also serves as president of the Northrop Grumman Foundation, leading philanthropic activities focused on building meaningful partnerships that transform our communities with a core focus on STEM education, military and veterans, health and human services, and the environment.
Prior to this role, Robinson was the vice president of Engineering and Sciences for the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems’ Maritime, Land Systems and Sensors division. He also served as vice president, Strategic Force Programs Business Unit, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) division, where he was responsible for overseeing all cost, schedule and technical performance aspects for a portfolio of national security space systems mission control programs.
Robinson joined Northrop Grumman in 2007 following a distinguished career with the U. S. Air Force. During his military service, he spent ten years at the Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles Air Force Base where he held various leadership positions in MILSATCOM, Space Superiority and culminating as the Commander, Global Positioning System Control Segment Group.
Robinson earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the United States Air Force Academy and a master’s degree in applied management from Lesley University. He is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University Advanced Program Manager’s course and is a certified Acquisition Professional Development Level III. He is also a member of the California Science Center Board of Trustees. Robinson also serves as a member of the Mission Systems sector’s DEI Council and executive sponsor of the South Bay African American Task Group.
