Tristan is a security coordinator with Northrop Grumman. He has a plethora of experience supporting many programs and efforts across the company, including physical security and personnel security. He’s also had experience working in the company’s badge and I.D. offices.
How long have you been with Northrop Grumman? How did you hear about us?
I originally came to Northrop Grumman in 2016 as a security officer and more recently have been exploring opportunities to grow with the company. I initially heard about the company through friends and old time co-workers that came to join Northrop Grumman and found success – ultimately, I followed suit in hopes of the same success.
What is your military background? How did your military background set you up for the role you are in now?
My military background is in Infantry as a Rifleman and a Radio Operator for the United States Marine Corps. Learning many leadership skills, working with a diverse team, and handling important material and information during stressful situations at a young age helped me prepare for my current role at Northrop Grumman.
What was your experience transitioning into Northrop Grumman as a Veteran?
It has been a great transition joining Northrop Grumman as a Veteran. I’ve had several opportunities and worked a handful of roles that has allowed me to make many friendships and gain lots of experience, much like I did when in the military.
What do you hope to gain from your role?
I hope to continue to learn, evolve, and help the company continue its success.
What advice would you give to other Veterans interested in a career at Northrop Grumman?
The advice I would give to other Veterans interested in a career here is that this a great company with many opportunities. Northrop Grumman has always acknowledge and supported my roles and transitions throughout the years.
How has joining the Veterans, Employees and Reservists Inspired to Act and Serve (VERITAS) Employee Resource Group enhanced your experience at Northrop Grumman?
Joining VERITAS has given me a new sense of pride to represent the company. Seeing so many employees that have served in the military makes me proud and lets me know there are employees at other sites that are still protecting the nation in different capacities. I have worked for Northrop Grumman since 2016 in many different job functions and I have left the company before. I came back specifically because of the many friendships I’ve made over the years and the support at the company. I have experience working at our Rancho Bernardo site and Redondo Beach site where I’ve met so many great employees, new and tenured, who are prior service and some that are not.
I’m fairly new to VERITAS, but I’ve always been able to talk to other veterans I’ve met through day to day interactions. Now being part of VERITAS, it has already given me so much information and forums to discuss things that current and prior service members can relate to. I look forward to attending future events and volunteering in any form that I can.
