Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer - Structural Design/Principal Engineer - Structural Design to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to the 4/10-1st Shift, (Mon-Thu) - 10 hours/day schedule.
**This position may be filled by either an Engineer - Structural Design level or a Principal Engineer - Structural Design level based on the qualifications listed.
Essential Functions:
Develop “Design for Producibility” solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Supervise design solutions from initial concept to final implementation.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineer - Structural Design (T02):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 2 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 0 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 0 or more years of engineering experience
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start
Experience in the design of bonded composite primary and secondary aircraft structures.
High level of proficiency using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft structures and components.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer - Structural Design (T03):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start
Experience in the design of bonded composite primary and secondary aircraft structures.
High level of proficiency using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft structures and components.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Experience working on military aircraft.
High level of proficiency using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft structures and components.
