Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This role is located in Emerado, ND.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones, specifically for modifications.
- Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for modifications and revisions to operating methods
- Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional modification teams
- Analyzes existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance, specifically for modifications
- Provides daily feedback on schedule position to manufacturing leadership for modifications.

Basic Qualifications:
- Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor’s Degree in (STEM) with 5 years performing Industrial Engineering roles and/or functions; OR Master’s Degree with 3 years of performing Industrial Engineering roles and/or functions
- Senior Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 4): Bachelor’s Degree in (STEM) with 9 years performing Industrial Engineering roles and/or functions; OR Master’s Degree with 7years of performing Industrial Engineering roles and/or functions
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and hands on experience using shop floor production system (Solumina, MES, etc.)
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP)
- Proficient in MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint
- Proficient with AutoCAD or Visio software
- Capacity and scheduling simulation experience (Simio, or other simulation software)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and/ or Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Factory design experience and/or experience designing and implementing manufacturing flows
- Documented experience working in a robust IPT environment
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation/ maintenance (Tableau, Power BI)
- Project management experience
- Report programming experience (SQL, Crystal, MS Query, Bus. Objects, etc.)
- Experience performing Earned Value Management
- Active DoD Secret clearance.

- Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
