Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do
In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to perform and provide oversight and support in the following areas:
- Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
- Create and maintain SysML and UPDM models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems GBSD structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to OMG standards.
- Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
- Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
- Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
- Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function
- Interface with AF customer
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM-related field of study from an accredited university and 9 years of relevant experience, 7 years with a Masters, and 4 years with a PhD
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Minimum 3 year of experience with the following: Requirements Management: Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
- Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
- Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- 5 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System
- Experience with any of the following tools and languages: CORE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, Easy Power, Prima Vera, UML, SysML
- 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas:
- Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
- Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
- Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
- General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics, etc

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
