Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently hiring for a Senior Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our Payload and Ground Systems Division Global Supply Chain team. The programs this position will support are located out of Baltimore, MD (our RSP Business Unit). The preferred location for the candidate hired for this location is Baltimore, MD. The preferred candidate for this position will be available to work a hybrid schedule with the ability to come into the office for necessary collaboration with internal and external teams.
Job Duties:
Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers.
Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and analyzes proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required. Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
Issues compliant purchase orders and manages its life cycle. Workload can be high-volume and low-dollar in nature, including but not limited to POs ranging from $0 - $5M depending on commodity, complexity, and program needs.
Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
Reviews junior team members’ PO files for accuracy and compliance based on current PrOP and FAR regulations.
Able to act as a team conductor for both primary and secondary requisition conducting support as needed.
Ability to brief program team on current status of high-visibility procurement requisitions.
Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation& warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
Strategizes with programs for procurement placement and burndown plans based on need dates and program priorities.
Reviews and approves supplier payments as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or closely related business experience OR Master's degree and 8+ years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Sourcing, or closely related business experience; in lieu of degree, 14 + years of Supply Chain experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company.
Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
Supply Chain or Procurement experience across multiple sectors to support business needs.
FAR/DFARS or government contracts experience
Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with senior-worker reviews
Familiarity with microelectronics purchasing of varied dollar amounts
Strong problem solving skills
Experience with MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
