Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Global Supply Chain (GSC) Operations team is seeking talented Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join the Naval & Oceanic Systems Business Unit, supporting the Maritime Systems and Intergration Operating Unit and this position will be located in Charlottesville, VA

Roles and Responsibilities:
Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers.
Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required.
Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
Issues purchase orders.
Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years Or a Master's degree with 1+ year of professional experience in supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing or a closely related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experience.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
The ideal candidate possesses strong time management and organization skills; Ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward.
Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications.
Two-years' experience with negotiating terms and conditions in a Corporate setting.
Experience with Government purchasing and contracting.
SAP experience.
