Senior Principal Network Engineer
Northrop Grumman Defense Sector is seeking a Senior Principal Network Engineer to join its team of qualified, and diverse professionals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL. As a member of the Network Team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing complex network architectures. You will be responsible for supporting state-of-the-art solutions that utilize TCP/IP networks and communications. Your skills will be put to the test as you evaluate and conduct trade studies on switches and routers, provide implementation and troubleshooting services on installed and test networks, and develop test plans, procedures, and reports for evaluated equipment and test events. Your contributions will be essential in driving innovation and progress in the field of network architecture.
What You’ll get to Do:
The selected individual will play a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of the program’s network architecture.
Roles & Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems
Implement engineering changes to the system as required
Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
Occasional travel may be required
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science with 9 years of experience or Master’s Degree and 7 years of experience or PhD with 4 years of experience
Hands-on experience with TCP/IP networks, fiber, and RF communications
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
Hands-on experience with network evaluation and troubleshooting tools
Experience writing test plans, test procedures, test reports, and trade studies
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Secret
Preferred Qualifications:
Active CCNP or equivalent certification
Familiarity with OSPF and L2TP protocols
Familiarity with DOD network STIGs related to switches and routers
Experience testing and integrating in a System of Systems (SoS) environment to meet evolving requirements
