Corporate Lead Executive

Bret Batchelder is Northrop Grumman's Corporate Lead Executive for Pacific Theater Government Relations. In this role he is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships throughout the region, with his focus on operational warfighting forces.
As a leader in customer relations, he fosters an in-depth understanding of multi-service military requirements throughout the Pacific Theater. This includes orchestrating and coordinating high level customer engagements with the services and other assigned organizations in collaboration with fellow corporate and sector teams. Throughout these interfaces, Batchelder ensures alignment with Corporate Strategy and Campaigns, while synchronizing his efforts across the sectors to contribute to the development of company priority programs.
Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Batchelder served 35 years with the U.S. Navy and retired as a Rear Admiral. He most recently served as the Director of Maritime Operations at U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA. Prior Flag commands include the Navy Warfare Development Command, the HARRY S TRUMAN Carrier Strike Group, and the Joint Enabling Capabilities Command. Other assignments include Operations Division, Assistant Secretary of the Navy (financial management and comptroller), FMB-1, where he managed the Navy and Marine Corps Operations, Maintenance, Manpower and Combat accounts. He also served as the Head of Naval Aviation Officer Assignments and Distribution, and in the Joint Staff J-8 Capabilities and Acquisition Division.
Batchelder earned a Bachelor of Science from South Dakota State University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Salve Regina University. As a Naval Aviator he accumulated over 5,500 hours in Navy jet aircraft with over 4000 in the FA-18. He flew over 100 combat missions from the decks of aircraft carriers and has over 1,200 carrier-arrested landings. He brings a wealth of experience in worldwide joint force strategy, operations, and tactics, the development and implementation of warfighting systems across all domains, and Pentagon operations and processes. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and several other personal and unit awards.
