Bethpage Project Update: May 3, 2021

Update

We completed the installation of the RW-21 piping along the utility corridor late last week and site restoration will be finished today. In addition, our contractors will begin work along Central Avenue and Stewart Avenue (both roadways are under the jurisdiction of Nassau County) starting this morning to saw-cut specific portions of the roadway where we needed to create test holes. We are working closely with inspectors from the Nassau County Department of Public Works as we commence our work and through the repair and restoration of the roadway.

During this time, you will see temporary lane closures as crews secure the work areas within the roadway so they can safely conduct their work. Road repair crews will operate excavating equipment, dump trucks, jackhammers, saw-cutting and compaction machinery. Road repair crews will have flaggers directing traffic around work zones. This work will occur weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. We anticipate working in the area until May 10. As always, our work is weather dependent (periods of rain will extend the test hole restoration schedule beyond May 10).

Upcoming Virtual Meeting June 3, 2021 at 7 p.m.
