Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Engineer Software – Deputy Solution Chief TO60 (24-049) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base and/or the Colorado Springs, CO, area.
Position Overview:
Supports the Solution Chief in decomposing system requirements into work packages (developing epics and features) and coordinates planning with various ART leadership on the planning and executing of a segment's work.
Additionally, the position coordinates meetings to clearly define what is done or the scope of the effort during development. It ensures execution to meet milestones, seeing a segment from planning to delivery. This position will assist in building project plans to ensure requirements are being met based on resource availability. It will participate in segment, increment, and capability planning to identify infrastructure and software project dependencies and need dates to support software and hardware installation for capabilities to support a segment.
Essential Functions:
- Prior leadership experience with demonstrated proficiency in software development or program management; experienced in complete program development life cycle to include emerging digital development environments.
- Ability to excel when information is ambiguous or sparse.
- Function in a product manager role with the ability to process development skills, including vision/strategy generation and execution.
- Possess the ability to communicate with internal and external customers, leaders, and development teams.
- Experience in either or both the DoD Space or Missile Defense sectors and agile development processes.
- 5+ Years experience with tracking projects from start to finish.
- 5+ Years experience understanding requirements and how to ensure product quality matches customer expectations.
- 8+ Years experience with the C2BMC National Team Processes
- 8+ Years experience in Earned Value Management
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- An active Top-Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Willing to submit to a POLY.
- 14 years with a bachelor's degree in a related field; 12 years with a master’s degree
- Travel will be required between C2BMC Development sites and possibly to testing and operational sites.
- Experience in the Space Mission arena.
