Employee Volunteerism
Employee Volunteerism
Employees are a key component of building partnerships for stronger communities. Our employee volunteerism and outreach initiatives align with our strategic focus areas: K-12 STEM education, support for military and veterans, health and human services and the environment. Mentoring a student, helping a service member transition to a new career, providing a meal to someone in need, cleaning up our parks and waterways, this is at the heart of what we do.
Northrop Grumman provides Community Service Grants on behalf of employees who volunteer with schools or 501(c)(3) nonprofits throughout the year. To qualify for a Community Service Grant, employees must volunteer 40+ hours during the annual grant cycle and log their volunteer hours in the My Giving portal.
The Difference Maker Awards celebrates employee commitment to making a difference through volunteerism. Awards are given in three categories, with the top winner in each awarded a $10,000 charitable grant for their qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofit or accredited public school. Two runners-up in each category will receive a $5,000 charitable grant. Employees can nominate themselves or other volunteers/teams of volunteers.
