Janis Pamiljans is corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector, a premier provider of military aircraft, autonomous systems, aerospace structures and next-generation solutions.
Pamiljans leads the Aeronautics Systems sector, which has major operations throughout the United States, including California, Florida, Mississippi, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and Utah.
Previously, Pamiljans was corporate vice president and president of the heritage Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector specializing in providing innovative and affordable integrated air, space and ground solutions. Prior to that he was sector vice president and general manager of the Strategic Systems division at Aerospace Systems where he led a significant portfolio of restricted programs.
Earlier, he was sector vice president and general manager of Unmanned Systems where he oversaw all unmanned systems programs, as well as advanced programs and captures. Prior to that, Pamiljans served as vice president and deputy general manager of Unmanned Systems and before that, was vice president of the Navy Unmanned Combat Aircraft System (N-UCAS) program where he led the team to a successful first flight of the X-47B in February 2011. He has also served as vice president and program manager of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program; vice president and program manager of the KC-45 Tanker program; vice president of Production for the former Integrated Systems sector; and has held several director-level integrated product team positions on the B-2 and F/A-18 E/F Hornet Strike Fighter programs. Pamiljans joined Northrop Grumman as manager of flight test engineering for the B-2 program in 1987.
Pamiljans earned a bachelor's degree in aero operations from San Jose State University. He is a Harvard Business School graduate of the Advanced Management Program. He also completed the Duke University Advanced Management Program and the Defense Science Management College in Acquisition Management. Janis serves on the board of directors of the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. He is also a member of the California Science Center Foundation Board of Trustees.
