Rising Star of the Year

Congratulations goes to Northrop Grumman employee, Liv Hake, who is a finalist for ‘Rising Star of the Year,’ and to the UK’s chapter of Pride in Diversity Alliance (PrIDA) – Northrop Grumman’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group – a finalist for ‘Network of The Year’.

Data Scientist, Liv joined Northrop Grumman in Cheltenham during November 2021 and was swiftly elected as chair of PrIDA in the UK. The group is owned and managed by employees who strive to make a difference in the quality of life at work for LGBTQ+ workers and allies.

A highlight of Liv’s career so far was being awarded Northrop Grumman’s ‘Chairperson of the Year’ at Out & Equal in Las Vegas, the largest LGBTQ+ workplace equality event in the world.

Renowned as a strong, visible and effective leader, Liv directed Northrop Grumman’s sponsorship and support of Cheltenham Pride, the first Pride march in Cheltenham for over a decade.

Nick Chaffey, CEO of Northrop Grumman UK, commented: “I am incredibly proud of Liv and our PrIDA Employee Resource Group for making the finals of the LGBTQ+ Defence Awards. Our ambition to make Northrop Grumman the most diverse and inclusive place to work is not only driven by our leadership team, but our employees themselves. I am inspired by the passion and work ethic of Liv and the PrIDA team and together we are committed to making our company a welcoming, safe and inclusive space for all.”

Liv Hake commented said: “I am so excited to be a finalist in the LGBTQ+ Defence Awards. The fact that PrIDA is also a finalist for Network of the Year Award will make the event even more special. I am really looking forward to the awards evening to network with other finalists from our industry and celebrate the achievements of PrIDA so far.”

Tina Walton, Social Value Implementation Partner at Northrop Grumman, has worked closely with PrIDA members for a number of years. “I am so proud to see PrIDA being recognised for their incredible work. Under the leadership of Liv and the team, the group has gone from strength to strength. I am excited to see where the group will go and the changes they will bring to fruition.”

The winners will be announced at a celebration evening on Tuesday 17th October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. Please join us in congratulating Liv and the PrIDA team for this fantastic achievement.
